We have grown steadily since founding in 2019, and are now looking to recruit a Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team.

£70,000+ (depending on experience) + profit-sharing scheme, and benefits

About the role
This is a leadership role where as well as being part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will spearhead the delivery of our projects. You will be responsible for ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest quality. Typically acting as Project Manager for several projects at a given time (depending on size), you will be responsible for leading research design, implementation and delivery.
In particular, as an experienced economist, you will be experienced in both quantitative analysis and qualitative research of economic and socio-economic metrics and dynamics. You will use your methodological expertise and practical experience to design and oversee implementation of economic analysis by our team of consultants, economists and analysts. You will set and communicate clear priorities, objectives, and expectations for the team, monitor performance, and take appropriate corrective actions to keep performance on track. Where necessary, you will escalate key risks to the Project Director (Greg or Will, the two company Co-founders and Directors).
The successful candidate will help to grow the business, working with the other three members of the senior leadership team in developing ongoing business strategy for company growth, identifying and following new pipelines of business opportunities, and championing the company externally. Experienced in bid-writing, you will play a leading role in proposal development to secure new projects. You will also cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, providing economic expertise and strategic insights to solve complex challenges, and tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
You will also play an essential role in developing, coaching and mentoring junior team members, acting as a role model and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, continuing to keep know.space as a welcoming and enjoyable place to work.

7+ years of relevant experience, including practical experience delivering economic analysis in an economic/management consultancy, government analytical profession (e.g. GES), or other project-based environment;
A proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-value projects;
Excellent leadership, communication and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire and manage a team;
Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and to high quality;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with client relationship development experience and background in leading large-scale consultatitive stakeholder engagement exercises;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting and communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences;
Good qualitative skills, including the ability to synthesise and gain insight from ‘softer’ analytical data and evidence, and to work with imperfect / incomplete evidence.
You need to have have (essential):
Knowledge and understanding of the UK and global space industry;
Space industry expertise, with experience of working in the sector, and a strong professional network in the UK and internationally;
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in economics OR experience working as a professional economist;
Understanding of economic theories, principles, models and their application, and proficiency in economic data analysis and forecasting;
Experience in leading the design and delivery of business cases in line with the HM Treasury 5-case model, especially on the economic case in line with ‘Green Book’ principles;
Experience in leading the delivery of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) projects for public clients, including strong familiarity with principles in the HM Treasury ‘Magenta Book’';
Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as R, Stata or Python;
Fluency in European or other languages.
