.about

Initiated in 2010, the Size and Health of the UK Space Industry study serves (commonly known as Size & Health) is the UK’s definitive evidence base for the space sector. It plays a central role in assessing the sector’s scale and performance, while also informing both industry and government priorities. In addition, the study contributes to the development of UK space policy and enables the tracking of progress against key policy objectives, including those outlined in the National Space Strategy (NSS).

.methodology

At the core of the Size and Health of the UK Space Industry 2025 study is an industry survey targeting organisations engaged in space related activities.

Findings from the survey are complemented by desk-based research and targeted validation interviews. These inputs support a comprehensive analysis of industry dynamics, including the identification of growth drivers, the separation of macroeconomic and industry-specific effects, and the assessment of the sector’s contribution to the wider UK economy. In addition, the study benchmarks the UK space industry against international space sectors as well as comparable industries within the UK.
