Greg Sadlier, Co-founder & Director

Greg has dedicated his career to advancing economic data and analysis of the space sector – to better understand its dynamics of change, growing sphere of influence and benefits arising from its capabilities. A respected thought leader, he has pioneered innovative techniques to measure and track trends in the rapidly evolving space economy. His methods provide valued insights and trusted advice to decision-makers across industry, agencies and governments. He has led 150+ commissioned studies spanning the entire space value chain: technology, spaceflight, in-space operations, exploration, tech transfer, ground stations, satellite constellations and their expansive application markets, and spillovers on Earth. Previously, Greg was Divisional Director of Space at London Economics (2006-19). He holds an M.Sc. in Economics, an M.A. and B.A. in Economics & Business from Trinity College Dublin.

Will Lecky

Will Lecky, Co-founder & Director

Will has focused his career on the economics and analysis of science, innovation and space. As the UK Space Agency’s Chief Economist (2015-17), he built the Agency’s analytical function and spearheaded the application of cutting-edge appraisal techniques to the space sector. As Head of Policy Analysis at UK Research & Innovation (2017-19), he then built and led a team of ten economists, social researchers, statisticians and data scientists, working to ensure organisational decisions on use of the £8bn+ UKRI annual budget were underpinned by the best evidence. He has also worked in Brussels for EU institutions and for other UK national and regional public agencies & departments. He has led and delivered multi-billion pound business cases, evaluations, impact assessments and other analytical studies, building a reputation as an expert at producing hard-hitting, robust and credible analysis. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from University College London and an M.A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

Alyssa Frayling

Alyssa Frayling, Senior Manager

Alyssa is an internationally-experienced Manager with a background in delivering high-profile analytical projects across the space value chain, including impact assessments, monitoring & evaluation frameworks, market studies, and competitive analyses. She has worked with public institutional bodies such as ESA, EUSPA, the European Commission and UKSA, as well as with private actors across the space sector landscape. Prior to joining know.space, Alyssa was a Principal Analyst in the UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) Strategy team, and previously worked as a Senior Analyst in PwC’s Space team. She has a M.Sc. in Space Studies from ISU and a B.Sc. in Computer & Management Sciences from the University of Warwick.

Maria Cody, Expert Adviser / Manager

Maria brings a wealth of experience, having served as the Head of ESA Policy at UKSA for nearly a decade before joining know.space, bringing great knowledge of policy, innovation and the dynamics of the space industry. She played a pivotal role in steering four successful investment rounds at ESA ministerial meetings with the UK ESA investment almost doubling in this period and the UK going from eighth largest funder in ESA to one of the influential big 4 nations. She accredits the success in growing space budgets, even over times of fiscal austerity, with the ability to work closely well with analysts on all aspects of socio-economic research including impact studies.

Luca Niccolai

Luca Niccolai, Consultant

Luca is a Consultant with extensive experience evaluating high profile investments in space and beyond. He has worked on space-supported applications development, capabilities mapping, business cases, requirement studies and market analyses. Luca has a rich track record of designing and leading large-scale consultation exercises and visually communicating complex information. Since joining know.space, he has delivered over 20 studies for European (e.g. ESA, EUSPA) and UK clients (e.g. UKSA, DSIT, SA Catapult). Luca holds 1st class honours in his M.Sc. International Business & Management (AMBS) and B.A.Sc. (Hons) in International Relations & Sustainable Development (University of Warwick).

Eloise Trimingham

Eloise Trimingham, Consultant

Eloise leverages her background in economics to deliver analytically rigorous studies for a range of public (e.g. UKSA, DSIT, ESA) and private clients. She has experience in economic modelling, notably having developed the model for the ‘Size and Health of the UK Space Industry 2022’ project. Eloise has also assisted with consultations on projects for ESA and UKSA, as well as drafting reports and conducting literature reviews for studies including the Returns and Benefits from Public Space Investments 2021 and the Case for Space 2023. Eloise holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Sara Cucaro

Sara Cucaro, Economist

Sara joined know.space as a Space Economist after graduating from her M.Sc. in International Development at the London School of Economics. By combining her development economics studies with a strong interest in the space sector, she brings rigorous quantitative research skills and approaches challenges with a positive attitude. Prior to LSE, she achieved first class honours in her MSc International Economics (Università di Milano-Bicocca) and B.Sc. International Relations and Global Affairs (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), while taking part in training opportunities in Panama, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and France.

Ewan Dallas, Analyst

Ewan possesses robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and is experienced in delivering projects within the space sector and across the broader research and innovation landscape. He has contributed to a variety of studies, M&E projects and surveys for clients such as UKSA and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and has produced an evaluation report for an international NGO. Ewan holds a Master's degree from the University of Cambridge, where he conducted research on policy-based drivers of technological innovation.

Jane Davies, Analyst

Jane has a strong background in practical social research, particularly relating to the space industry and digital infrastructures. Prior to joining know.space, Jane worked for the Satellite Applications Catapult where she focused on in-orbit servicing and manufacturing (IOSM). Merging her experience in social research and business development for the UK space sector, Jane offers analytical frameworks for qualitative collection and data analysis. Jane has a MSc in Space-focused Digital Anthropology from UCL, and a BA in Anthropology and Sociology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
